A Romantic Wedding at Lord Thompson Manor in Thompson, Connecticut
Kristine Vichiola (28 and a teacher) and PJ Cochrane (24 and works in account management) tied the knot in an elegant wedding in Connecticut. The couple originally met through the bride’s younger brother and other mutual friends. For the proposal, PJ surprised Kristine with a getaway weekend to Rhode Island where he popped the question on a cliff overlooking the ocean. “It was a dream come true!” says the bride. As soon as they visited Lord Thompson Manor and heard the venue’s concept of a “wedding weekend,” which includes a rehearsal dinner, reception and brunch, among other events, the couple knew it was where they wanted to hold their celebration. “It really encompassed everything we wanted out of our wedding,” Kristine says. “A venue that would make it about us, with exceptional eye for detail.” A color palette of light gray, light pink and ivory were incorporated into all of the décor and helped the bride and groom achieve their desire for a light, soft look that gave a romantic feel. Following the outdoor ceremony, guests attended a cocktail hour with various stations of cheeses, meats, seafood and pasta. A dinner of steak, chicken, seafood, mashed potatoes and vegetables followed at the reception. The next morning, close family and friends attended brunch at the Manor with the newly married couple. “Our wedding was anything by typical, but it was just perfect for celebrating our love,” Kristine says.
